Micro-pigmentation (also known as Permanent Makeup) is a special aesthetic treatment used to correct, modify, balance and enhance features semi permanently. When done, the results are more natural looking then topically applied cosmetics. Investing a mere hour or two of your time can amplify your brows, lips or eyes for years to come.
Micro-pigmentation is a machine applied technique using a brand new needle to deposit pigments into the second layer of skin. Every precaution is taken to ensure the Micro-pigmentation or Permanent Makeup application is as pain free as possible.
All pigments used are exclusively made for Micro-pigmentation. This allows for easy application with excellent colour retention, no possible development of reddish shadows and will not migrate under skin. This high quality formulation is Tartrazine free and vegan friendly. Tartrazine is a highly allergic artificial coloring additive. Therefore, risk of experiencing a allergic reaction is very low. The greatest advantage of these pigments is that there is no exposure to heavy and toxic metals, that usually can be found in 98% of semi permanent pigment brands. They also come in a wide range of colours and can be customized for you.
When first applied, the pigment will initially be 50% stronger in colour but will soften to a natural, beautiful enhancement. An epithelial crust will form and gently fall off over 3 to 7 days. During the healing process, the colour may seem to disappear as it is obscured by the healing skin. The true colour will not come through until up to 4 weeks from initial treatment. The healing time is different for each individual and procedure. Under no circumstances should you have further Micro-pigmentation work on the same treated area until after 4 weeks.
Your health and well being is top priority at Vivid Beauty Boutique. The treatment room is sanitized before and after all appointments. The Micro-pigmentation machine is disinfected before and after every procedure. The machine, hand piece and cord is also wrapped in plastic during treatment. A new, disposable cartridge needle will be use during your treatment and is disposed of afterwards in a Medical Sharps Container. All other products used are disposed of after procedure is complete.
With any Micro-pigmentation, a touch up is required in 6 to 8 weeks after the first application to complete the look. The touch up application will boost the colour and give a perfect finish. The cost of a touch up is not including in initial pricing. Once the desired look is completed, Micro-pigmentation can last up to 3 to 4 years. The long lasting results will depend on skin type and life style.
A consultation is mandatory prior to booking a Micro-pigmentation service. If you are looking for a certain colour please bring your makeup with you for a better understanding of what you are looking for. A $100 deposit is required when scheduling a Micro-pigmentation appointment. Please give 48 hours notice to cancel any appointments. If notice is not given and appointment is missed, the deposit will not be refunded.
When scheduling an appointment date for a Micro-pigmentation procedure, you will need 14 days for the treated area to completely heal. It is recommended to have two to three days of down time directly after the procedure. Please keep in mind when booking as to not make any social plans or plan any holidays directly after appointment. Your skin will need time to heal and you will have to avoid the sun for the duration of the healing time.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your treatment time to complete a waiver form and go over the aftercare card. Late arrivals can lead to your treatment being postponed to avoid upsetting other clients who may be waiting for their appointments after yours. Please allow the required time for each service. This is not something that can be rushed.
If you prefer a certain makeup colour for lips, brows or liner, please bring your makeup with you to show your technician. No one’s face is totally symmetrical so please be realistic with your expectations. We want the best results for you so please listen to your technicians opinion.

Permanent makeup will appear extremely intense and thick immediately after the procedure. The colour will appear darker for the first few days. You may experience some swelling and minor bruising. Excess pigment sheds off over the next 2 to 3 days as the skin starts to heal. As swelling goes down the lines will become thinner. Colours will continue to soften and stabilize over the next few weeks. The true colour can take up to 4 weeks from initial treatment to come through. It will look very natural once healed.
In the first 30 to 60 minutes after the procedure, gently cleanse area with cotton rounds that are slightly damp with cool water. Follow with the aftercare ointment that will be provided to you. Apply ointment with a clean Q-tip. Use patting motions only. Avoid rubbing. Repeat this process 3 to 5 times a day for 14 days. During the healing process, the colour may seem to disappear as it is obscured by the healing skin. Flaking, crusting and itching may also occur as the skin starts the natural healing process. Picking or peeling any flakes can cause loss of implanted pigment and scarring. Refrain from touching the treatment area except when cleaning, applying oil or ointment.
To achieve the desired colour, two applications will be needed. Please schedule second appointment approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the initial procedure. Touch up cost is not including in original pricing. Micro-pigmentation can last for 3 to 4 years depending on colour, individual body chemistry and lifestyle.
A Colour Boost appointment are recommended for those who wish to keep their makeup enhancements looking as fresh as possible. Different pricing is in place for a Colour Boost. Pricing depends on the duration of time from the original appointment and are individual assessed.
